This blog has been a gentle meander around what I see are the key issues in digital marketing. I’ve tried, but often failed, to ignore some of the frothier excitement about aspects of social media.
Moving forward, I’d like to focus more on issues around metrics and measurement. That’s partly because I like the certainty of numbers; partly because I distrust them and I think that misinterpretation of data sometimes leads to some ill-informed thinking around digital strategy.
Oh dear, that sounds a bit dull! Perhaps that’s why SXSW passed up the chance to hear me and Ian Jindal talk run a panel on ‘There is no spoon: subverting digital marketing’s truths” this year. Don’t worry – we’ll be back!!
